My three worst habits are overeating, self-doubt, and the frequent use of the ilbba word. Bray has stated that she wrote the first novel because she was a “horror fan” and because she “wanted to write another series, something historical, but also supernatural”.

The main storyline was resolved really well, djviners there’s a setup albeit a bit TOO involved at the end for the next one that definitely made me want to keep reading! They all interacted with each other in basically the same way.
Honestly, after the narrator became more open with us regarding her, I began to admire her happy-go-lucky demeanour. Is it bad surprise?

The plot was extremely well written and the history elements were amazingly researched and in-depth. And not thaaaaaaat scary.
Don’t get me wrong though. She had a lot of badass moments, but she could also be impulsive and petty when she was angry, and it made me want to bang my face libbs a wall. My favorite word is “redemption.

Liibba need more people to read this so I can fan-girl with them. If she wants to present biased and one-sided arguments for her own beliefs, I think she should write political speeches, not novels. Evangeline O’Neill has been exiled from her boring old hometown and sent off to the bustling streets of New York City–and she is ecstatic. And Libba Bray definitely has fun with it. That’s a very good climax, yet, I was shocked…it didn’t end.
